1. POSITION: Weight Control Engineer
Department/Project: ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
Education: University Graduate in Structure/Ocean Engineering
Working Experiences: Around 5 years in similar position or similar field
Working Status: Temporary / Contract

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION
- Engineering Degree with around 5 years of experience
- Hands-on experience in weight control activities of offshore structure projects (fixed offshore platforms or floating offshore structures such as FPSO's and/or Semi Submersibles).
- Familiar with WCR related International Codes such as ISO 19901-05.
- Ability to estimate, monitor and report weights and Centre of Gravity (CoG) of dry, lift and operating weights relevant to offshore structures.
- Site experience in topside, marine and vessel construction and installation is an advantage.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS
• Estimate, monitor and report weights and center of gravity of dry, lift and operating weights relevant to offshore plants and onshore modularized plants.
• Plan, coordinate, control and act as an interface within the Project Team for weights and center of gravity monitoring activities.
• Coordinate and supervise the external resources for all activities related to Weight Control in accordance with corporate/project/client requirements.
• Prepare and issue Weight Control Procedures.
• Highlight to all concerned parties the importance of the weight control activity.
• Define, in cooperation with Weight Control Manager, the weight control organization and the relevant execution plan.
• Plan, prepare and issue (agreed with Project Technical Manager) weight reports on a regular basis.
• Define resources to be involved in Weight Control project activities in co-operation with Weight Control Manager.
• Set up, operation and maintenance of weight control software.
• Interface with Project Technical Manager and Project Team, collecting data transmitted by disciplines of dry, lift and operating weights of each single weight element.
• Review data provided by all engineering disciplines in terms of overall consistency with plant layout.
• Implement, review, analyse, classify and process data supplied by engineering disciplines.
• Propose and organize any corrective action to ease and secure the communication of the data.
• Provide an accurate analysis and evaluation of any weight deviation or center of gravity variation and their effect on the limits set by the project and proposing, when necessary, corrective actions (target weight).
• Identify and monitor weight implication due to design changes.
• Perform back-up of input data to guarantee traceability of the data for the whole duration of the project.
